Black Dog Finds A New Home

Written on October 6, 2016

The classic Chevy Camaro now belongs to a lucky Loyal Looper named Westerly, all thanks to a simple phone call that led to this life-changing moment.

I was on Mancow Wednesday morning and he was doing a key giveaway ‘Mancow School’ style where you listen to the show and people call in and are quizzed on topics discussed that morning. Westerly was one of the callers who passed the test and all the winners names were placed in a hat. Moments later, I picked a name out of the hat and it was her! Little did I know (at the time) how nervous and in need she was at the time having fallen on hard times. At the actual event in St. Charles at Arcada theater she shared her story and I knew if she didn’t win the car we had to help her out in some manor.

The Rockin’ Ride giveaway was under way, we have a triple blind system where you line up in alphabetical order, then pick a number out of a jar, line up in that order, then pick a key out of a jar and line up in that order. So as you see its 100% random. But the stars were in line for Westerly that night and she went home winning Black Dog in a life changing moment she’ll never forget!

Rockin’ Chicago for more than 35 years!

Way back in 1977, rock music found a new home on Chicago’s radio dial with 97.9 The Loop (WLUP-FM)!

97.9 The Loop became nationally-known, thanks to the Disco Demolition in 1979, and thanks to legendary personalities like Steve Dahl, Garry Meier, and Jonathon Brandmeier. Today, 97.9 The Loop rocks the Chicago airwaves, playing artists like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Bob Seger, Foreigner, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Who, and more!
