The third car in our Rockin’ Rides giveaway was this classic ’69 Chevelle, and lucky Loyal Looper named Gary was a big winner!

The year 1969 was a great year, across-the-board, for all classic cars, especially the Chevelle. And in one of the most beloved colors, hugger Orange, it definitely is a showstopper!

Our final giveaway was at dirty Nelly’s in Palatine and luckily the weather was beautiful. But we did have one slight hiccup… None of the 18 keys first started the car!!! Ahhh! I guess sometimes with old muscle cars you have to have the right touch and jiggle of the steering wheel to get her going, kind of similar with girls ;)

So, Harry from Studio Hotrods stepped in to try all of the keys himself while our contestants stood by watching eagerly. It was key number 14 that worked, and Gary was the winner’s name! His wife in tears, it was definitely a special night for them.

Rockin’ Chicago for more than 35 years!

Way back in 1977, rock music found a new home on Chicago’s radio dial with 97.9 The Loop (WLUP-FM)!

97.9 The Loop became nationally-known, thanks to the Disco Demolition in 1979, and thanks to legendary personalities like Steve Dahl, Garry Meier, and Jonathon Brandmeier. Today, 97.9 The Loop rocks the Chicago airwaves, playing artists like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Bob Seger, Foreigner, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Who, and more!
